Care and Work: A Balancing Act
A national campaign showcasing the importance of the 6.1 million employed Canadians who must balance their personal commitments, caregiving duties and work responsibilities. The time and physical demands they experience are often equivalent to working two full-time jobs. This balancing act impacts a family caregiver’s financial, emotional and personal well-being. Carers UK and major businesses have set up Employers for Carers offering help to employers to retain the 1 in 9 employees who are caring for a family member. Employers for Carers has evolved from a group of employers committed to working carers, is chaired by British Gas and supported by the specialist knowledge of Carers UK. Our key purpose is to ensure that employers have the support to retain employees with caring responsibilities. Visit website
Launched by Carers Australia, Work & Care Initiative aims to improve the capacity of carers to combine employment with their caring responsibilities, and to assist long-term carers on income support to transition into employment when their caring role ceases or is reduced. Visit website
